Our Story
Fighting for What We Believe In. Together.
Pearland MLKCC was established in 2017 by a group of Brazoria County, Texas civic leaders who noticed the rapid multicultural growth of the area and wanted to create an event to celebrate the unity and diversity of northern Brazoria of which Pearland is the largest city by population. The leaders also noticed a void in the acknowledgement of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday, which is a national holiday, and decided that a parade and other complementary activities would enhance the community's current list of events.
